Alexander Scivos received a bachelour of science (Biology) from McMasterUniversity in Hamilton (Canada) in April 1996, and a diploma in mathematics (Dipl.-Mathematiker) from the University of Freiburg in December 2000. He worked as a software consultant for SAP Deutschland from March 2001 until June 2004.

He is a teaching assistant for the Advanced AI Techniques lecture (publishing exercises) and a research scientist in the Research Group on the Foundations of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Freiburg, headed by Bernhard Nebel. He joined the group in August 2004 and is currently working on his Ph. D. He is a member of the Graduate Programme "Mathematical Logic and Applications".
