In this practical course students will become familiar with basic programming techniques. The students are supposed to implement a Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) and Data Mining (DM) technique. KDD is a process that aims at finding 'nuggets' of knowledge in potentially large datasets, whereas DM is the data analysis step that is part of this process. More precisly, the course will be focused on inductive databases for sequence analysis.
