In information integration systems, the following problem may arise: We have a query expressed by using base relations which are not directly accessible. However, views of these relations are available and can be used. A method that may be used is to find a rewriting of the query using these views and then compute this rewriting on the view instance. We will talk about how to find such rewritings for queries and views that are conjunctive queries with or without arithmetic comparisons.
