Wolfgang May leads the
Database and
Information Systems group at the
Institute for Informatics at Göttingen University.
He received his Diploma in Computer Science/Informatics from the Universität Karlsruhe in 1995,
rated "mit Auszeichnung". The diploma-thesis was
awarded the "Förderpreis des Forschungszentrums Informatik der
Universität Karlsruhe". From May 1995 until September 2002 he was
a member of the Databases and
Information Systems group at the
Institute for
Informatics
at the
Albert-Ludwigs-Universität
Freiburg (until October 1997 he held a scholarship in the
Graduiertenkolleg "Menschliche und Maschinelle Intelligenz"). He
received his PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in November 1998, and his
Habilitation (venia legendi) in Computer Science
in December 2001. With winter term 2002/03, he moved to
Georg-August-Universität
Göttingen;
first as a visiting professor, and since April 2003 he holds an
associate professorship.
