Goal of the Meeting

The main goal of the meeting is to bring all the various solutions, techniques, ideas together that people have developed to cope with the search problems their planners encounter. To us, the problem seems to be one of the most serious hurdles preventing deployment of planners for real "real-world problems" and we are facing it independently of the specific approach we are using.

Besides of mutual inspiration and exchange we would like to achieve some specific results. One idea is a report to AI Magazine about the state of the art on controlling search in planners. Furthermore, we would like to strengthen the empirical basis of our research and start an initiative to make domain descriptions, benchmark problems, and test beds available on the net.

Any other suggestions from participants are very welcome!
