Below you may find the information for the participants of this proctored exam.

Both exams, that is the midterm and final exam for the online course "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence" by Prof. Sebastian Thrun and Prof. Peter Norvig, can be taken at the University of Freiburg, supervised by Prof. Wolfram Burgard. For both exams, you will have to be physically present at the location mentioned below. If you should be unable to come to Freiburg for both exams, you cannot receive the certificate.

Why you would want to do that, if you can do it at home, too? Because if you will pass the exams, you will get a certificate (in German: Schein) signed by Prof. Wolfram Burgard that you have passed the exam of the course and that this is equivalent to the AI course at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Freiburg. Typically, German and many international Universities accept such a certificate.
If you want to take part in both exams at the University of Freiburg, please write an e-mail to Wolfram Burgard to enroll:
burgard@informatik.uni-freiburg.de. Please use the subject "Stanford AI Course Exam Registration" for your email. Please note that it does not make sense to send registration requests after the mid-term exam in Freiburg has been carried out. Only students who were in Freiburg for the mid-term exam can also come for the final exam.

The Midterm Exam successfully took place on the 19th of November from 1pm to 4pm.

The Final exam will take place on December 17 from 1pm to 4pm in the very same location as the mid-term exam. It will be organized in the very same fashion. It will take place at the University of Freiburg, Technische Fakultät, Georges-Köhler-Alle, in building 101, room 036.
If you should arrive by car please let us know so that we can organize parking.
There are detailed instructions how to reach us. Further information will posted on this site and in a timely fashion.

Please note:
You will need to identify yourself, so please bring your passport or your ID card. The exams will be taken online. You will have access to the lectures during the exam via the wireless network. To get the certificate you are not allowed to look at the online exams before November 19, 1pm German time, respectively December 17, 1pm German time. Additionally, you are not allowed to change anything after November 19, respectively December 17, 4pm German time. If you do so, which will be checked by the time stamps of the system, you will not get a certificate. You need to bring your own laptop and your own ear-plugs. Please make sure that your laptop's battery lasts long enough, as we only have very limited power sources. You are not allowed to use chat, social networks, email, or VoIp during the exams.
