Graduate School Embedded Microsystems
The postgraduate course in Embedded Microsystems“ aims to systematically develop methods facilitating the development and management of embedded systems, and also to produce scientists highly qualified in their field.
The development of reliable, highly integrated systems with applications in medical diagnostics, in the modern hi-tech home, in manufacturing or in motor vehicles requires close cooperation between computer scientists and microsystems engineers. Our Faculty of Applied Sciences, with its Computer Science and Microsystems Technology departments, provides the ideal environment for this.
We are currently working on 19 projects within our research program. Some of these are involved in developing design and test methods; others, in developing applications for self-localization and integration, focusing on the specific requirements and possibilities of microsystems.
The postgraduate course in “Embedded Microsystems” was launched in April 2005. The German Research Foundation provided 10 scholarships, each worth 1365 euros per month, and the companies Sick, Micronas and Endress + Hauser also offered 3 industrial scholarships of the same amount. In April 2006 the number of scholarships available increased by 3, increasing by the same amount again the following year.
