The humanoid soccer robots ouf our team NimbRo win RoboCup German Open 2008, which takes place at Hannover Messe. [Video]

Three members of the group are moving to the Computer Science Institute of Bonn University.
Dr. Sven Behnke is appointed to full professor for autonomous intelligent systems.

September 2007
We demonstrate our humanoid soccer robots during Science Night at Europapark Rust. 

Our  robot lady Robotina conducts twelve chellists during the award ceremony for the IHK Research and Innovation award in Neuss. 

We host the website for The Second Workshop on Humanoid Soccer Robots @ Humanoids 2007

Our humanoid soccer robots won as team NimbRo the soccer competitions of RoboCup 2007, which took place in Atlanta, GA. The TeenSize robots Robotina and Bodo defeated the Spanish team Pal Technology in the penalty kick final. Our KidSize robots Rudi, Jürgen and Lothar won the final match of the soccer tournament against titleholder Team Osaka from Japan. [Video]

Our humanoid soccer robots compete as team Nimbro at the RoboCup German Open in Hannover. They win the technical challenges and the 2 vs. 2 soccer tournament. [Video]

Our soccer robots play demonstration games at the RoboCupJunior qualification tournament in Magdeburg.

January 2007
Our soccer robots play demonstration games at the i+e trade fair in Freiburg.

December 2006
Our soccer robots play demonstration games at the Humanoids conference in Genova, Italy.

October 2006
We present our soccer playing robots and the communication robot Fritz at the Science Days in Europa-Park Rust.

September 2006
Our robot Robotinho conducted in the Q110 the 12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic.

July 2006
We presented our soccer robots at the Science Summer in Munich. The Federal President, the Federal Minister of Research, the President of DFG, and other officials visited our field. [Image]

June 2006
Our team NimbRo participated sucessfully at RoboCup 2006 in Bremen. Our KidSize robots won the Pelalty Kick competition. It the 2 vs. 2 Soccer that lost the filal against Team Osaka in the extra time. The came in third in the Technical Challenge. Overall they were the second best in the  Humanoid League. Our TeenSize robots were sucessful as well. They came in second the the Penalty Kick competition and were third in the Foot Race.

April 2006
Our soccer robots Jupp and Sepp win the RoboCup Dutch Open in Eindhoven.

March 2006
Our newest robot is presented to the public and meets Franz Beckenbauer during the (human) soccer game Germany - USA in Dortmund.

The ZDF (Second German Television) helps us to find a name for our newest robot. The name Robotinho won the public voting. [Link]

September 2005
Toni and Jupp are demonstrated at the Robot Zoo of AMAM 2005 in Ilmenau.

August 2005
The RoboCup Humanoid League 2006 website is established.

July 2005
Team NimbRo came in second and third after titleholder Team Osaka in the overall ranking of the Humanoide League at the RoboCup competition in Osaka. Our KidSize robots (<60cm) came in second in the 2 vs. 2 soccer games, second in der Technical Challenge and thier scientific paper was also ranked second best. The MidSize robots (>60cm) won the penalty kick competition and came in third in the Technical Challenge.

July 2005
Team NimbRo flies on 7/10/2005 to Osaka, Japan, to participate at the RoboCup Humanoid League competitions and at the RoboCup Symposium.

June 2005
We present our robots at the science fair of Freiburg University. Alpha expains the smaller robots Toni, Jupp, Kondo, and RoboSapien.

April 2005
We participate at RoboCup German Open. Demonstration soccer games with multiple RoboSapiens against Brainstormers Osnabrück and penalty kicks with Toni and Kondo against Darmstadt Dribblers take place.

December 2004
We present our robots Toni, Kondo and RoboSapien at the 21th congress of the Chaos Computer Club in Berlin.

September 2004
We present our work concerning our augmented RoboSapien at a workshop about methods and technologies for multi-robot teams at the 27th German Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Ulm (Proceedings-Paper). The RoboSapien API developed by our team for programming behaviors for the RoboSapien can be downloaded at our project page.

July 2004
By showing a dance performance our robot Alpha won the third price in Lissabon at the RoboCup 2004 Freestyle competition of the humanoid robots. Our modified RoboSapiens came in third in the Techinal Challenge competition.
